Welcome to the Wild River Ranch in Goliad, TX!

This 615 acre ranch is situated on the historic San Antonio River bottom, near Goliad Texas. Much Texas history has been written near here, including the battle of Fannin. The ranch is a functioning wildlife preserve, and conservation area. It is enrolled in CRP, and all available TPWD conservation and environmental quality incentive programs, including Level III whitetail deer management. The river bottom is under an intensive program to preserve the natural beauty of the ecosystem, and to enhance the unique wildlife habitat found there. All Hunting on the ranch is strictly managed to ensure good population density and sex ratios for whitetail deer, turkeys, and as for the feral hog…..well, you know the story. It is an ongoing battle. It is combat. The ranchers in the area all face ecological disaster in the form of roving herds of a very prolific wild hog population, which is known by most to be terribly destructive to crops grazing pasture and many other structures. Populations continue to grow out of control. So, our hunting has taken on a urgency, and this is why we have resorted to methods such as night vision, thermal imaging, Infrared lasers and “combat” tactics which simply must be seen to be believed.
